I have been a member of the A-Team since its inception 3 years ago. I have been inspecting homes and businesses for buyers for the past 25 years. The group has given me the ability to not only diagnose and analyze the problems which real estate buyers face when purchasing properties, but to be able to refer the tradesmen, attorneys, professionals and contractors in every category now represented in the group, to help the deal come to fruition and to estimate, repair or replace the systems which are faulty or in need of further action. I feel extremely confident in the abilities and expertise of those members that I regularly receive positive feedback about and from satisfied customers and second and third tier referrals. Together , we take the guesswork out of buying real estate. I have been involved in networking groups since the start of Profulgent Technology. I actually went to a few meetings before I even had business cards. I saw the benefit from the start and I knew it could help my business grow. So I found a group close to my office and joined. I was a member of that group for almost 3 years. The group was 20 members when I joined and it was 20 members when I left, 3 years later. I left because I was bringing guests to the group and they would not join. I would see them again and I would ask why they didn’t come back. In most cases, the answer was, “I joined BNI” or “I found a larger group.” So I set out to find a BNI group larger than 20. I ended up finding The A-Team which was a start-up at the time. I think the group was 17 members when I attended the initial guest drive in early 2008. But I saw the number of guests in the room and I saw the potential for the explosive growth of the A-Team. So I joined that day and resigned from my other group. I recently ran a few reports. For 2010, the A-Team generated 5% of our revenue.

In the Winter of 2008 I was in the process of forming a BNI chapter in Bridgewater.  At the same time I suggested to my father, who owns Lee Myles Transmissions in Hazlet, that he look into BNI for his business.  By the summer his chapter, the A-team, had taken off like gangbusters, while my chapter was barely treading water.  Fortunately for me, the Financial Advisor in the A-team relocated offering me an opportunity to join the hottest new chapter in New Jersey.  I wasted no time interviewing for the Financial Advisor designation and was thrilled to be accepted into the chapter. 

As someone who had been working on forming a chapter and was visiting chapters throughout the state to learn about BNI, I discovered quickly that the A-team had something special.  This particular group of professionals has a terrific chemistry that makes for a very effective networking relationship amongst its members.  The A-team is dedicated to the success of each individual and the chapter as a whole.  I have not only gained terrific clients and business relationships, I have gained friends.
